Description

This exemption was granted to permit the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery to advertise for, recruit and employ an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person in the position of Aboriginal Learning Facilitator based at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in the Creative Arts and Cultural Services Directorate on the basis that:

  1. The purpose of the position is to collaboratively develop and deliver public and educational programs to support the Australian Curriculum for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures; and
  2. The position will support school, local community and museum activities to close the gap in Aboriginal education and/or awareness outcomes and related initiatives; and
  3. The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery is the leading cultural organisation within the Launceston region and seeks to define its relationship with the Aboriginal communities within the region through this identified position.
