Description
This exemption was granted to permit Karinya Young Women's Service to recruit and employ women only in the identified position of:
- Chief Executive Officer;
- Youth Crisis Accommodation Worker (Permanent full-time);
- Youth Crisis Accommodation Worker (Permanent full-time);
- Youth Crisis Accommodation Worker (Casual);
- Program staff (Karinya Young Mums 'n' Bubs program);
- Cleaner; and
- Management committee (Membership).
on the basis that:
(i) Karinya Young Women's Service Inc is a specialist homelessness service which is funded to provide immediate emergency accommodation to young women aged between 13 and and 20 years of age; and
(ii) The shelter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with usually one staff member supervising up to seven young women at any one time.
